I’m Tracy James Givens, born May 05, 1962, I’m a taurus born in the year of the Tigar. I moved to Arlington Texas in 1972 and still reside here. In 1976 I met Robin Ann Cox, the daughter of Fred Lavon Cox Sr and Margaret (Hatcher) Godfrey both from the Paris Texas area. I had lied about my age and was assistant manager of a Dairy Queen, Robin filed out an application and I hired her on the spot
My relationship with her parents didn’t go well, the night before I was to officially meet them tragedy struck, I shot and killed my brother in-law. The short of it, I didn’t make the meet and greet, and my picture was on the front page of the local newspaper with not much information about the event. I stopped by a few days later and her parents had decided she was not allowed to date me, and I was not welcome at their home
We managed to see each other against her parents’ wishes and when they found out her father started beating her with a cane. I was living with my sister and paying her rent at the time, so Robin came there. The parents followed with the Texas State Police Officer which lived down the street from them on EDNA ST in Arlington Texas right behind. Robin went outside to speak with them, and she didn’t want to return home because of her father’s anger, and they couldn’t make her since she was 17 years old, an adult according to Texas Law. We (my sister & myself) agreed she could stay there for a while if she wanted
.
A couple of years later after my 17th birthday we got married, that lasted 13 years totaling 18-year relationship. Our divorce was finalized in August of 1992, but the harassment had already begun and has been ongoing and escalating since
Our son was 10 years old when we divorced, and we shared joint custody. I was working irregular hours and driving trucks over the road but would arrange to be in town every other weekend on my visitation days. She would take him to her parents’ house on my visitation days or she would take him shopping or visiting someone without coming back to her home until late. Other times I would call their home to speak with my son or leave a message to phone me and she wouldn’t even tell him I had called, instead I found out she would imply I didn’t care, or I would have been on time. This bullshit happened so many times I was forced to file police reports with the Arlington Police Department.
